1st grade here we come!!!

Cayden's kindergarten graduation was adorable. His teacher puts so much time into teaching them the cutest songs ever. (Some of them I remember singing in my Mom's children's chorus when I was that age!) I of course cry through the whole program. They're so cute and little up there and I don't know what it is about "endings"? We are really looking forward to summer, but I loved watching Cayden learn so much and bring home his cute projects and really love school. And his teacher, Mrs. Hoddenbach, was amazing! We hope Riv has her next year.
So long for now!
It's hard to see in this video, but that's Cayden with shakers!

Part Two

Just so you all know, tooth #2 decided to plop on it's own yesterday, in honor of memorial day! We didn't have to wait four weeks like I thought we would. AND the tooth fairy got a little smarter and left four quarters instead of a dollar, like she was supposed to. I would have posted a picture, but it looks pretty much the same as the one below. His teeth are so small, you can't even tell there's a huge gaping hole!

Tooth Fairy

I guess you know you're getting older when your kids start losing body parts. This one was a welcome loss. That dang tooth held out to the very end. Actually, I don't know if it was the tooth as much as it was just Cayden, too scared to pull it! And, just so you know, you don't HAVE to pull. They will eventually fall out! Plop, it's out. No pain. No freaking out. No tears. I've known Cayden long enough to know the "no touching it" route was the way we'd go. And here we safely are...no pain, no tears, no freaking out!! And he's so proud of that empty little space you can barely see. It's fun to see him smile (for once) so everyone can see! Good job Cade! And here's to waiting four more pointless weeks for the one next to it that's hanging on for life! "DON'T TOUCH IT!!!"
Oh PS here's another tip. IF by chance you run into the Tooth Fairy en route, remind her that quarters, not dollars, are the payment of choice. You'll ALL be happier if you do!
You can't see the tooth, but it's there.
Or that tiny little hole on the bottom!
He was so excited to call everyone to tell them!

POST OP

Thank you everyone for so many well wishes, dinners, visits, help with kids, and phone calls to see how Tucker's doing. His surgery went very well. The tear in his labrum was a little worse than the doctor expected, but he was able to fix it and all is well. Tucker is doing great and already walking without crutches (although he shouldn't be)!
I thought I'd post a little journey through the whole experience for you to enjoy too! Don't worry, this is defiantely rated G, nothing graphic! I don't think Tucker would like pictures of his stitches on the web!

Off to the surgical center.
Waiting in the lobby.
Weighing in. He actually lost ten pounds anticipating this special day!
Waiting for the doctor. And still smiling!
12:50, our scheduled time.

Fifteen minutes late.
Oh, what to do while we wait...
and wait...
and wait...
and wait...
Fianlly, an hour later, time to go.

Not so smiley anymore. A little nauseas after the surgery...ok a lot nauseas!

Finally, 8:00 pm, time to go home.

And, home resting with his favorite little booger on his favorite spot on the couch!

March Madness

Sadly, I had to ask Tucker what March Madness meant. Now that I know it's about basketball (boring, who cares!) I think the title better fits my blog!
It really was a great month, with lots of goings on. Starting with Riv's 5th birthday and ending with a really fun reunion! And here's all the in between...
River's 5th birthday at Chuck E Cheese
My cousins and I and our kids love to get together. Our latest adventure was a St Patrick's Day scavenger hunt collecting shamrock clues...
around the town...
to find their pots of gold and a "green" lunch at Grandma Great's!
My sister Shanda (left) came for my other sister Mandee's baby shower!
We decorated my house all pink and white...it had never been so cute!
And we had a blast at the shower. Lots of fun games!
Lots of cute gifts!
And then... we had a girls camp reunion, (I never had my camera, I know dumb, or there would be a whole blog post!) with all the girls I grew up with in Antioch and went to girls camp with. This beautiful girl Lindsay, was one of my best friends since second grade. We lost touch after Jr. High, but seeing her this weekend made me realize how much time and frienship I missed out on. Hopefully, I'll be smarter this time and keep in touch! Love you Lindsay! The weekend was awesome!
Soon to come...reports on Tucker's hip surgery! ...or maybe he doesn't want you to know about that!

OH MY RIVER

Are you five years old already??!! My little Running Water, I can't believe it! My little Rivey poo, River roo, how do I love you? Let me count the ways...

I love your always smiling face, and the way your eyes are always smiling too. I love your ever need to learn something new and the way you love to make people feel better.

I love your sweet spirit and reminders to say prayers and read scriptures. I love your pictures of our family all over the house and the help you always are to me. I love the time you always want to spend with just me, so we can snuggle and talk about your stuff. I love your smooches and hugs whenever I want! I love your patience with the world in your little five year old eyes. I love you! You are MY "Little Running Water" and you make me the happiest Mom EVER!
