After a really good sunday school lesson on geneology last week, I decided I've really been missing the boat on my own family history. I definately need to be better. And I loved the comment, "you can't wait till your a grandma to start, then you'll be the oldest and there won't be anyone else to ask anything." This is so true. I'm totally missing out! And so is my posterity! So this is my attempt to be better. I won't be good at it and I'll always forget to write things down, but today I'm going to write this:
River came home from school today with a decorated halloween cookie. It was really cute! I asked him if his teacher made the cookies and brought them to school? He said no, "we made them AT school!" (He gets so funny when he's serious and trying to be right. It makes me smile!) Grandma Kathy asked, "do you have an oven at school?" He said, "no, actually you made it mom, and I snook it in the middle of the night and took it to school!!!"
It wasn't so much the word "snook" (even tho when I type it, I'm laughing again!) as the way he says such grown up (in his mind) words! Kathy and I couldn't help but giggle. And I wanted him to say it again because it was so cute, but I didn't want to embarrass him. He was so serious again and I wanted him to be right. He didn't know that "snook" isn't a word. We were just laughing because he is so dang cute! If only he could be 5 forever!
Thanks Kathy for encouraging me to keep a notebook. I think I will and I promise to try really hard.

CUTE - I love that word - I may just have to use it now!! This is why I keep the blog - I am printing it out in a few months so my kiddos can see what I wrote and also pics when they were growing up!!
Hey! Way to be on it girl!! I want your family to snook over to my house more.
That's SO cute! He is so funny! I wish he could be 5 forever too!
Cute. I have journals for each of my kids that I write funny things like that, milestones, what I love about them that day. . . I write about once a month, or when Cressida says something funny that I want to write down before I forget. I love to go back and read them.
