I liked this website so much, I'm sending it to all of you. The craziness of trying to be prepared and not knowing where to start and the expense can really be a turn off, and for me it was. Now that I've started my supply,I feel a lot better, but there's so much you can do. This website not only organizes what you need for your specific family, it calculates cost, puts you on a rotation system, gives you recipes and you can buy your food right from them. The prices are comparable, I'm sure (the Hyde family calculated about $1,000 per person for one year supply of food, their package for a family of five is $6,900 w/shelves.) Sounds like alot and it is, but we go at our own rate, doing what we can. Mostly I just like the website for the layout and ideas. And they have a really cool shelving system that I want and really good 72 hour packs. I just got a coupon in Hometown Values too, so I'm sure they have other deals and sales. This sale they have going now ends tomorrow. I'll try to find out when the next one is. Check it out.
Also, another good website my sister in-law found is foodstoragemadeeasy.net
Good for month to month planning, taking baby steps. It's a great one for just starting out and creating a plan. She's really excited about it!

Plus, those cans are way cuter than the ones I have from the church cannery...
That's great info...Now that I am the food and water storage specialist for our ward I should probably get educated on the topic. Thanks!!
